Puzzling Places - BackupS
Puzzle Files
If you’d like to add, remove, or backup the puzzles you have downloaded for Puzzling Places, you can find the puzzle files in
Quest\Internal shared storage\Android\obb\com.RealitiesIO.puzzlingPlacesBeta
Every puzzle is contained in its own .OBB file. This file contains the puzzle, the reference photos, information about the environment, sounds, and the menu thumbnail image.
File names: the naming of the puzzles files are in this structure: main.XX.com.RealitiesIO.puzzlingPlacesPatreon.obb. The XX refers to the puzzle number which is in consecutive order to when the puzzles were released. For example, the puzzle “Christmas Special 2020: Gingerbread House - #31” file would be named main.31.com.RealitiesIO.puzzlingPlacesPatreon.obb. You can refer to Patreon posts’ titles for all the puzzle numbers.
Since March of 2021 with puzzle #44 Buddha Statue, we introduced both 100 and 200 piece puzzles. As a result, we’ve added the number of pieces in the file names. So for the #44 Buddha Statue puzzles, the file names are main.44100.com.RealitiesIO.puzzlingPlacesPatreon.obb and main.44200.com.RealitiesIO.puzzlingPlacesPatreon.obb referring to the number of pieces in the puzzle.
SaveGame Files
If you’d like to backup the savegame files of your puzzles, you can find the files in
Quest\Internal shared storage\UE4Game\PuzzlingPlaces\PuzzlingPlaces\Saved\SaveGames
Note: Removing or redownloading a puzzle does not delete or overwrite the savegame file of a puzzle. However, backing up savegames would be helpful in situations where you need to uninstall and reinstall the Puzzling Places app and would like to keep the progress of your puzzles intact.
